Senior Backend Software Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Develop, integrate, and consume RESTful APIs; build and maintain backend applications using modern development practices.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to support efficient data management and performance.
• Manage Docker containers and support application deployment.
• Implement secure coding practices and protect applications against common vulnerabilities.
• Write Bash or PowerShell scripts to automate operational tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Support CI/CD processes and improve development and deployment workflows.

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Strong professional backend development experience using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with Git-based version control, RESTful APIs, Docker, and relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Good understanding of secure coding practices, particularly OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, and basic knowledge of Linux.
• Experience writing scripts for Linux or Windows environments using Bash or PowerShell.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience developing and deploying applications on Kubernetes; familiarity with NestJS.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, and infrastructure automation tools.
