Senior Backend Engineer

Our client is building a cutting-edge platform powering intelligent autonomous operations across large-scale logistics and industrial environments. Their technology enables seamless coordination, monitoring, and orchestration of autonomous fleets through scalable, real-time software infrastructure.

They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help architect and scale mission-critical backend systems that support high-performance operational environments and real-time automation workflows.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Designing and building scalable backend services for real-time operational platforms
• Developing high-performance APIs and distributed systems using modern backend architecture principles
• Creating robust integrations across multiple autonomous systems and third-party platforms
• Managing complex data ecosystems including relational, geospatial, and time-series data
• Building low-latency communication systems capable of processing high-frequency event streams
• Driving platform reliability, observability, security, and multi-tenant scalability
• Collaborating with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to deliver production-grade solutions
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering standards, reviews, and technical direction

What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in modern SaaS or platform environments
• Strong expertise in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot
• Experience designing distributed systems and scalable API architectures
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and complex data modeling
• Experience working with geospatial (GIS/PostGIS) and/or time-series databases
• Hands-on experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets or MQTT
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and building abstraction/service layers
• Strong understanding of software quality, observability, testing, and security best practices
• Ability to operate independently in fast-moving and ambiguous environments

Nice to Have

• Experience with React, Next.js, or TypeScript
• Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in robotics, logistics platforms, fleet management, industrial IoT, or autonomous systems
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and RBAC/security models

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Strong communication skills in English
