Senior Back-End Engineer (Python / Azure)

Project

API and service delivery

• Develop Python APIs with FastAPI or Django and publish and version OpenAPI contracts.
• Model relational and NoSQL schemas, manage migrations, and implement messaging and background processing.
• Configure authentication, authorization, caching, and API gateway routing and versioning.
• Containerize services and prepare deployments to AKS or Container Apps through CI/CD.
• Instrument logs, traces, metrics, and alerts; provide production support and root-cause analysis.

Service accountabilities

• Maintain reliability, API contracts, backward compatibility, data integrity, and secure handling of secrets and personal data.
• Meet performance and scalability requirements and maintain unit and integration test coverage and pull-request quality.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of back-end development, including 4+ years in Python and 3+ years operating services on Azure.
• Expert Python, FastAPI and/or Django, asynchronous programming, and Pydantic experience.
• Azure, database modeling, security, Docker, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, testing, and observability experience.

Technical skills

• Relevant technologies include Azure services, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, SQLAlchemy or Django ORM, Redis, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, and OWASP API Top 10.
• Nice to have: AWS or GCP equivalents, Kafka or event-driven patterns, CQRS, and AZ-204 or AZ-305 certification.

Additional qualifications

• Regulated financial services, sovereign wealth, investment holding, or other regulated enterprise experience is advantageous.
• English proficiency is listed as C1 Advanced.
