Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own Azure identity, access, secrets, threat protection, network security, private endpoints, and policy as code.
• Design platform architecture against the Azure Well-Architected Framework and maintain architecture decision records and diagrams.
• Lead load testing, autoscaling, caching, database tuning, and observability.
• Maintain infrastructure as code and secure CI/CD, including security gates, dependency scanning, and backup and archiving automation.
• Run vulnerability management, penetration-test remediation, and incident response; align the platform with UAE and customer security requirements.
• Own consultant knowledge transfer, findings, remediation backlog, and architecture roadmap.
• Mentor developers; review designs and pull requests for security and scalability.
• Produce runbooks, security standards, and executive-level reports; design telemetry using Azure monitoring and observability tools.

Must-have requirements

• At least 5 years in cloud or security engineering, including 3 years hands-on with Azure in production.
• Delivered a cloud security assessment or hardening program and an architecture redesign with measurable results.
• Azure Engineer Associate certification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD skills; scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Working knowledge of Azure identity, network, and data security.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• Able to start within 30 days; currently in the UAE or able to relocate on a sponsored visa.
• Experience setting up Splunk and AppDynamics.

Nice to have

• SC-100, CISSP, CCSP, or OSCP certification.
• Experience with IoT, telematics, GPS, fleet management, or high-volume real-time systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure IoT Hub, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, SQL Managed Instance, AKS, or App Service.
• Experience taking a product through ISO 27001 or a UAE regulatory audit.
