Senior Automation Engineer

Role overview

Technical leadership and architecture

• Own end-to-end solution design decisions for RPA and Intelligent Automation initiatives.
• Lead architecture reviews using Blue Prism, UiPath, and Power Automate Desktop or Cloud.
• Define REFramework, queue management, exception handling, and coding standards.
• Evaluate OCR, Microsoft Copilot, and Generative AI or LLM automation capabilities.
• Provide final technical sign-off on Solution Design Documents.

Development and delivery

• Develop and oversee enterprise RPA solutions integrating with SAP ECC or S/4HANA, web applications, Outlook, Excel, and third-party systems.
• Guide database interactions and scripting in SQL Server, Oracle, C#/.NET, VBA, Python, and SQL.
• Oversee bot deployment, Control Room monitoring, SLA adherence, and production support.

Governance and standards

• Own the automation governance framework covering PDD, SDD, Bot Charter, As-Is/To-Be documentation, and User Manuals.
• Lead feasibility assessments, pipeline prioritization, and ROI estimation.
• Maintain reusable components, design templates, and automation accelerators.
• Champion IT, infrastructure, and security compliance.

Team and stakeholder leadership

• Lead and mentor Senior and Junior RPA Developers and support capability building and certifications.
• Set delivery expectations, track progress, and manage technical risks and blockers.
• Act as the technical contact for architects, managers, business stakeholders, process owners, and IT teams.
• Lead requirements validation, design walkthroughs, UAT planning, Agile ceremonies, and stakeholder reporting.

Must-have background

• 10 to 14 years of overall IT experience with at least 10 years in RPA development and delivery.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying at least 25 RPA bots or processes across the full lifecycle.
• Experience leading RPA teams of at least 6 associates.
• Deep hands-on Blue Prism v6.x and v7.x expertise is mandatory.
• Experience with UiPath and/or Power Automate Desktop or Cloud is required.
• Enterprise SAP automation, web automation, queue processing, exception handling, Control Room, SQL, scripting, documentation, Agile, and production support experience are required.
• Experience in Banking and Financial Services, Healthcare, or another regulated industry is required.

Good to have

• Blue Prism Developer certification is strongly preferred.
• OCR, intelligent document processing, Microsoft Copilot, Generative AI or LLM, HTML5, advanced Excel, Automation Anywhere, and GCC or CoE experience are advantageous.
• UiPath or Power Automate certification is advantageous.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
