Role overview
Oversees organizational asset performance, lifecycle, utilization, and value.
Works with senior management, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and other stakeholders to optimize performance, manage risks, control costs, and maximize long-term asset value.
Responsibilities
- Develop asset strategies, plans, policies, procedures, standards, and performance frameworks.
- Manage the asset lifecycle from acquisition and deployment through maintenance, optimization, and disposal.
- Monitor asset condition, utilization, performance, lifecycle costs, ROI, budgets, depreciation, and capital requirements.
- Conduct portfolio, financial, lifecycle-costing, and investment analyses; support capital planning and replacement decisions.
- Manage operational, financial, compliance, and business continuity risks; develop KPIs, dashboards, and lifecycle metrics.
- Coordinate asset valuation, reporting, financial controls, procurement, supplier performance, maintenance, and service contracts.
- Maintain accurate asset inventories, records, tagging, tracking, and data; support preventive maintenance and reliability improvement.
- Evaluate asset technology and automation; lead audits, reviews, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Prepare reports, investment proposals, business cases, and executive recommendations; advise senior leaders on asset value, performance, risks, and investments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in asset management, portfolio management, facilities management, infrastructure, investment management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management, asset performance, investment planning, value optimization, and managing complex asset portfolios.
- Strong financial and commercial understanding of lifecycle costing, ROI, budgeting, and investment analysis.
- Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, problem-solving, leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Knowledge of risk management, compliance, governance, internal controls, maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with asset management systems, ERP, CMMS, EAM, or related technologies is advantageous.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred. CAMA, IAM Certificate, CFA, PMP, RICS, or related asset management qualifications are advantageous.
