Senior Architect Engineer (Saudi National)

Role overview

Design and technical delivery

• Provide a professional architect’s seal and signature when required by statute or contract.
• Conduct architectural studies, develop design concepts and criteria, and prepare related reports.
• Review CAD/BIM drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Provide technical consultation for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
• Write construction specifications and prepare detailed equipment and materials requisitions; interface with suppliers as required.
• Review supplier drawings and samples and perform technical bid analyses.
• Coordinate work with engineering and construction units at project sites; review, approve, and issue detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level architects and architectural designers/drafters on the project.
• Keep current with technologies through technical subscriptions and conferences; prepare staffing estimates and execution plans.

Required qualifications and knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited university.
• At least 10 years’ experience in large-scale projects, including overall responsibility for architectural engineering on large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of architectural design, production techniques, codes and standards, building materials, and construction methods.
• Expertise must have been gained from working for reputed firms.
• Knowledge of specialty-area precedents and principles and practices of related engineering design methods and systems.
• Knowledge of the building industry, regulatory standards, and design criteria relevant to architectural work.
• Knowledge of international procedures, design guides, automated practices, and administrative practices.
• Knowledge of applying and coordinating 2-D and 3-D computer-aided design tools on a project.
