Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs; prepare and review drawings and specifications; ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and construction teams to resolve design issues, support value engineering, and maintain design integrity during execution.
• Attend coordination meetings, provide technical guidance, review shop drawings and material submittals, and conduct site visits to verify construction against approved designs.
• Mentor junior architects and engineers, contribute to design standards, and support approval and handover documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong architectural design and planning capabilities, including layouts, space planning, and façade design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM platforms, or relevant design and drafting tools; familiarity with visualization and coordination software.
• Knowledge of building codes, local regulations, international standards, and architectural design best practices for large-scale projects.
• Construction coordination experience, including shop drawing review, detailing, and work with structural and MEP disciplines.
• Ability to lead design phases, manage deliverables, and work in multidisciplinary project teams; strong analytical, decision-making, communication, and constructability skills.
• Previous experience in large commercial, hospitality, or religious infrastructure projects is desirable, ideally in Mecca or a similar environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution; professional registration or membership is an advantage.
• Able to work full time on-site in Mecca and adapt to project-driven schedules.
