Senior Applied AI Engineer

About the Role

What You’ll Do

• Design and build agentic workflows for multi-step AI-driven app generation at scale.
• Improve LLM reasoning and retrieval techniques for Bubble’s AI-powered development tools.
• Build and maintain production LLM pipelines with prompt engineering, evaluations, and latency optimization.
• Fine-tune and optimize LLMs for AI-assisted app-building workflows using proprietary datasets.
• Own AI feature quality from prototype through evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Work with the AI team to scale research into production systems.

About You

• Have 5+ years as a Software or Machine Learning Engineer, or a Master’s/PhD in AI, ML, or NLP plus 3+ years of production experience.
• Have shipped production LLM-powered features with evaluations, monitoring, and iteration.
• Have hands-on experience building agentic workflows and debugging multi-step agent failures.
• Have strong command of RAG, context engineering, and retrieval pipeline design.
• Have experience with transformer models, embeddings, and AI model evaluation.
• Be proficient in Python and comfortable working in a TypeScript/Node.js codebase.
• Have familiarity with Hugging Face, LangChain, or Mastra.
• Demonstrate strong communication and a collaborative, product-minded approach.

Compensation

• Estimated salary range is $201,000 to $261,000, with actual pay based on skills, qualifications, experience, and market demand.
• Cash and equity compensation are offered.

Location

• This is a remote-friendly role open to candidates authorized to work in the United States.
• The team is based in New York City and works Eastern Time.
• Bubble can hire across most U.S. states, with listed state exclusions.
• Candidates within commuting distance of the Manhattan office are preferred because the team values regular in-person gatherings.
• Relocation assistance to New York City is available.
