The Department & Position : The city's IT department connects Carlsbad by delivering innovative technologies to internal and external customers. The department needs a leading-edge Senior Applications Analyst to help the city leverage technology to improve business processes, increase productivity and support civic engagement. This position partners with business units within the city to recommend, install/integrate, test, maintain and monitor the performance of software products and provide technical support to end-users and/or Business Systems Specialists in a multi-client, multi-vendor software environment. Responsibilities include conferring with end-users to determine types of hardware and software required and providing or assisting with training in the use of equipment and software. The city is currently implementing new enterprise solutions, including Workday, SpryPoint Utility Billing and Can/Am Teller Cashiering. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing and supporting these applications. The Senior Applications Analyst performs as a lead and/or at the supervisory level and provides support to end-users on sensitive or complex applications that have a significant impact on the organization. The Senior Applications Analyst is responsible to independently create and deploy unique solutions to end users with or without assistance from vendors.
