About the role

Everest seeks a senior specialist in finance data and reporting with significant financial reporting and controls experience and advanced data, systems, and automation capabilities.

The role owns complex finance reporting deliverables, strengthens source-to-report integration, reconciliations, and lineage, and leads cross-system data investigation and resolution.

The role supports controlled business-as-usual reporting and finance transformation, including finance data domain implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Own finance reporting datasets, cubes, reports, and dashboards across entities, currencies, and accounting bases.
  • Automate finance data and reporting with SQL, Power Query, Power BI, and VBA; use AI with validation and human oversight.
  • Establish quality checks, reconciliations, and source-to-report controls; investigate cross-system issues and coordinate sustainable remediation.
  • Translate reporting needs into documented rules, mappings, validation requirements, ownership, and handovers with Finance and partner teams.
  • Shape finance data domain transformation and embed lineage, mappings, reconciliations, and controls in design, testing, and business-as-usual transition.
  • Deliver finance data, analysis, and reporting solutions; maintain documentation and evidence for repeatability, auditability, access control, and change management.
  • Manage concurrent business-as-usual and project work, escalate competing priorities, support finance users, and share expertise.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification, with significant financial reporting and controls experience.
  • Further formal qualifications in data, analytics, or information systems through postgraduate study or a substantive combination of recognized professional qualifications.
  • Proven delivery of integrated finance data, reporting, and reconciliation solutions from requirements through business-as-usual adoption.
  • Substantial practical knowledge of financial close, ledgers, accounting judgments, controls, and cross-functional finance data projects.
  • BI, data engineering, database, or enterprise finance systems certifications backed by practical delivery are desirable; accountancy qualification is complementary, not mandatory.

Knowledge and skills

  • Deep financial reporting and controls expertise, including converting regulatory requirements into data rules, mappings, validations, reconciliations, and tests.
  • Strong understanding of policy and claims integration with finance platforms, including interfaces, mappings, reconciliations, and lineage.
  • Insurance or reinsurance finance experience, preferably property and casualty, is desirable.
