Location and arrangement
- United Arab Emirates; fully remote.
Technical accounting advisory
- Advise on complex transactions, business activities, and financial reporting matters; research accounting standards and reporting guidance.
- Prepare technical memoranda documenting conclusions, judgments, assumptions, and supporting evidence.
- Assess accounting for products, contracts, commercial arrangements, acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, business combinations, and other transactions.
- Provide guidance on revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, provisions, contingencies, impairment, assets, foreign currency, intercompany, related-party, equity, and financing matters.
- Monitor accounting standards and regulatory developments, assess impacts, and coordinate implementation.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, technical guidance, memoranda, procedures, and implementation materials.
- Support finance teams, answer stakeholder accounting queries, and explain complex requirements in practical business terms.
- Promote consistent accounting across entities and identify practices requiring standardization or remediation.
Ideal candidate
- Proven experience providing technical accounting and financial reporting advice.
- Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience researching complex accounting issues and developing well-supported conclusions.
- Strong technical accounting memorandum and position-paper writing skills.
- Relevant experience may include technical accounting, accounting advisory, financial reporting, audit, transaction accounting, accounting policy, or financial reporting advisory.
- Experience in a multinational, professional-services, financial-services, technology, construction, real estate, manufacturing, or other complex organization is preferred.
Performance measures
Measures include technical assessment and memorandum quality, issue and response turnaround, policy and standards compliance, and implementation timeliness.
Additional measures include transaction assessment, accounting accuracy, documentation, audit-query resolution, control effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
