The Senior Accountant – Inventory & Stock Control will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting functions while ensuring accurate inventory management, stock control, and warehouse reporting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, monitoring inventory movements, controlling stock levels, and supporting management with financial and operational reports.
The ideal candidate should have strong UAE accounting experience, excellent knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP software, and a solid understanding of financial reporting and stock control procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and General Ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
- Monitor company expenses and ensure proper cost allocation.
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and customer receipts.
- Manage petty cash and daily cash transactions.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and filing requirements.
- Prepare VAT reports and support external audits.
- Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Monitor customer outstanding balances and supplier payments.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in Zoho Books or ERP systems.
Inventory & Stock Control Responsibilities
- Monitor and control inventory transactions across warehouses and locations.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory reports.
- Verify stock receipts, transfers, returns, and dispatch transactions.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and inventory audits.
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP system records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and excess inventory.
- Prepare inventory valuation and stock aging reports.
- Ensure accurate stock costing and inventory accounting.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and sales departments regarding stock planning.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Generate inventory analysis reports for management.
- Ensure proper documentation for all inventory transactions.
- Implement inventory control procedures and internal controls to minimize losses.
Warehouse & Operations Support
- Coordinate with warehouse staff regarding stock movements and inventory accuracy.
- Review delivery notes, goods received notes, and stock transfer documentation.
- Monitor warehouse inventory organization and storage procedures.
- Support logistics and procurement teams with inventory planning.
- Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in Accounting and Inventory Control.
- Strong experience with Zoho Books, ERP systems, and inventory management software.
- Experience in Manufacturing, Trading, Distribution, or Lighting Industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of UAE VAT regulations and compliance requirements.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and analysis.
- Inventory management and stock reconciliation expertise.
- ERP and accounting software proficiency.
- Data analysis and reporting capabilities.
