Senior Accountant – Finance & Administration

About the role

Accounting and reporting responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and annual closing schedules, trial balances, financial statements, management reports, and cash-flow forecasts.
• Prepare and review UAE VAT records and returns; support corporate tax compliance, audit documentation, and statutory reporting.
• Manage bank reconciliations, collections, supplier payments, credit control, post-dated cheques, and banking documents.
• Oversee payroll, WPS, employee-related accruals, end-of-service benefits, and finance records.
• Handle inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, goods-receipt and supplier-invoice matching, landed costs, freight/customs allocation, and cost-of-goods-sold accuracy.
• Maintain intercompany transactions and reconciliations across group entities.

Systems, controls, and coordination

• Actively support ERPNext implementation, testing, data migration, internal controls, workflows, and adoption across accounting, purchasing, inventory, and financial reporting.
• Work with the accounts lead to document procedures, strengthen controls, identify errors, and gradually take ownership of key finance activities.
• Coordinate with purchasing, sales, warehouse, logistics, banks, auditors, consultants, and external service providers.
• Occasionally assist with HR, licence renewals, government/PRO documentation, and administrative follow-up; these duties are secondary to accounting.

Required experience and capabilities

• At least 5 years of relevant hands-on accounting experience, including substantial UAE experience; 3 or more UAE years is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and UAE VAT compliance.
• Strong understanding of UAE corporate tax requirements, payroll/WPS, and practical SME financial controls.
• Accounting or finance qualification such as B.Com, M.Com, ACCA, CA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent; professional qualifications are an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in modern accounting/ERP software such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Zoho, Tally, or ERPNext; ability to learn systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve processes.
• Inventory-based trading/distribution experience, including import documentation, supplier accounting, and landed-cost treatment, is strongly preferred.
• ERP implementation or migration experience is an advantage.
• Good written and spoken English, numerical accuracy, integrity, and ability to work independently.

Preferred profile

• Candidates from trading, distribution, import/export, industrial supplies, equipment, or similar UAE businesses are welcomed.
• Relevant HR, administration, government/PRO, or logistics exposure is a plus, not a requirement.

Pay

• AED 3,900 to AED 6,000 per month.
