Senior Accountant

Overview

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Monitor general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Accounts Receivable & Credit Control

• Manage customer accounts, collections, and credit control processes.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
• Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Prepare aging reports and provide recommendations to improve cash flow.

Inventory & Cost Management

• Monitor inventory accounting and ensure accurate stock valuation.
• Reconcile inventory records with physical stock counts.
• Analyze inventory movements, variances, and slow-moving stock.
• Support cost analysis and profitability reporting.

Tax & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide required information during audits.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial policies.

ERP & Process Improvement

• Utilize ERP systems such as Sage 300, Odoo, or similar platforms for accounting operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Support system upgrades, implementations, and process automation initiatives.

Financial Analysis

• Conduct financial analysis and prepare management reports.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and working capital performance.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.

& Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Strong experience in B2B accounting and credit control.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Sage 300, Odoo, or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations, financial reporting, and inventory management.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
