Senior Accountant

About This Role

Experience Required: Minimum 7 Years (preferably in Construction / Façade / Contracting Industry)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of the company. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting activities, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations, managing financial reporting, and supporting management with accurate financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management

Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with UAE accounting standards.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

Monitor and control accounts payable and receivable.

Follow up on client payments and outstanding receivables.

Manage supplier payments and maintain vendor records.

3. Project Accounting

Track project costs, budgets, and profitability for façade and construction projects.

Coordinate with project managers for cost analysis and financial reporting.

Monitor project billing, variations, and payment certifications.

4. VAT & Compliance

Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE regulations.

Ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations.

Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.

5. Payroll & Expenses

Manage payroll processing in coordination with HR.

Monitor employee reimbursements and expense claims.

6. Financial Reporting

Prepare financial reports for management review.

Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency.

7. Banking & Cash Flow

Manage bank reconciliations and cash flow planning.

Handle banking transactions, guarantees, and financial documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction / façade contracting companies.

Strong knowledge of VAT regulations in the UAE.

Experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).

Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and manage deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA will be an advantage.

Experience in project accounting within contracting companies.
