Senior Accountant

Bytespark.ai is seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, a leading firm in the UAE's regulated financial services sector.

This key role involves managing accurate financial records, leading month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting in compliance with IFRS.

You will be responsible for a wide range of duties including accounts payable/receivable, VAT and corporate tax submissions, and supporting external audits.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and hands-on experience within a regulated finance environment.

🎯 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

▸ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

▸ Minimum 4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a regulated financial services environment.

▸ Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CMA).

▸ Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

▸ Hands-on experience with UAE VAT return preparation and submission, and familiarity with UAE Corporate Tax.

▸ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

▸ Proven experience in managing month-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.

▸ Experience supporting annual external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to queries.

✨ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀:

▸ Experience working within a DIFC or ADGM regulated financial services firm.

▸ Familiarity with financial regulatory reporting for DFSA, SCA, or ADGM.

▸ Exposure to fund accounting or asset management finance.

▸ Experience with treasury and cash flow forecasting.

▸ Knowledge of Islamic finance accounting standards (AAOIFI).
