Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting specific to the construction field and project based work.
This role requires hands-on experience with project-related financials, invoicing, cash flow tracking, and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue project invoices, including those with advance payments, progress payments, and retentions.
- Monitor and track project-related expenses and payments.
- Maintain up-to-date Statements of Account for clients and suppliers.
- Coordinate with procurement to generate accurate Purchase Orders.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasting reports.
- Handle payment follow-ups and manage cash collections.
- Ensure full control over inventory movement, including documenting all incoming and outgoing materials and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Assist in monthly reporting, audits, and compliance.
- Support financial documentation required for project handovers or certifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting within the joinery and fit-out industry.
- Understanding of project-based accounting, payment terms, and retention rules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
