Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
The Senior Accountant will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger postings, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
Responsibilities
include preparing and analyzing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, managing payables and receivables, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
The role will support budgeting and forecasting processes, assist with internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide financial insights to support management decisions, and help improve financial controls, processes, and reporting tools.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with general ledger management, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support planning, performance tracking, and decision-making.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software/ERPs and advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), tax regulations, and internal control principles.
- Proven ability to manage month-end and year-end closings, audits, and documentation in a structured and timely manner.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are an advantage.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in diverse or multi-entity environments; experience in the Middle East is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi, handle multiple priorities, and maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
