Location

  • Remote, must reside in one of the following: MD, DC, VA, TX, GA or FL
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Overview: Kreative Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant with government contracting experience to support our operational accounting needs. This role works closely with our CFO and Accounting Manager and plays a key role in month-end close, reconciliations and accurate, compliant financial reporting.
  • The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced government contracting environment.
  • Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and performs reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and makes necessary adjustments ahead of month-end close.
  • Supports and helps lead the month-end close process.
  • Performs or oversees fixed asset accounting, accounts payable and payroll accounting.
  • Prepares project financial status reports for leadership and Project Managers.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves accounting issues; traces discrepancies and maintains supporting documentation.
  • Assists in developing, implementing and monitoring accounting policies and procedures.
  • Performs complex calculations and analysis in Excel.
  • Protects confidential financial information.
  • Supports special projects to help the Finance team run efficiently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of accounting experience, including in a government contracting environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and extensive knowledge of FAR.
  • Experience with government contract accounting systems such as Unanet or Deltek (GCS Premier or Costpoint).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, professional and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Experience with Unanet and ADP.

Compensation

  • $70,000 - $90,000 annually
