Senior Accountant

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and customer account follow-ups.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reconciliation processes.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning and business decision-making.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring complete supporting documentation for all transactions and accounting activities.
• Support payroll accounting, employee reimbursements, accruals, and provisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Utilize ERP/accounting systems effectively and support continuous improvement of finance processes and system integration.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian tax regulations, including VAT filings, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA requirements and reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities as required.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and identify opportunities for process automation and operational efficiency improvements.
• Assist management with financial analysis, reporting requirements, and ad-hoc finance-related tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Stay informed on the latest trends, and technology in the industry to keep our company at the forefront of innovation.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within Saudi Arabia.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems; Xero experience is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Professional certification is an advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi accounting practices, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with VAT filing, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA compliance is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and accounting software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
• Continuous improvement mindset with strong process-oriented thinking.
• Working conditions and Environment:
