The Senior Accountant is a crucial member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
This position plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing best practices for financial management and reporting within the organization.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical accounting expertise and strategic business insight to steer financial processes that enhance decision-making and support business growth.
As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with various departments to analyze financial data, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with excellent analytical skills who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and can communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy in financial entries and reconciliations.
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for various business areas.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation and filing processes.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and business recommendations.
- Assist in budget preparation and managing the overall financial planning process.
- Monitor cash flow and project future financial trends to support strategic initiatives.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior accounting staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Implement effective cost-control measures to optimize company expenditures.
- Recommend and help implement technology solutions to improve financial operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a track record of success.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with financial data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and leadership skills in financial contexts.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and high standards of accuracy.
