Black Capes is expanding its marketplace production team and is looking for an experienced Senior 3D Artist to collaborate on the creation of high-quality digital asset packs for game development marketplaces.

• Unity Asset Store
- ArtStation Marketplace
- CGTrader
- Fab
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and self-driven Senior 3D Artist who can contribute to the production of commercial-ready asset packs while helping maintain a high standard of quality across projects.
The ideal candidate has experience creating optimized, production-ready assets and understands both artistic quality and marketplace requirements.
This is a long-term collaboration opportunity for artists interested in building commercially successful digital products.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D assets for marketplace products.
- Develop game-ready models with clean topology.
- Produce optimized UV layouts.
- Create PBR materials and textures.
- Maintain technical consistency across asset packs.
- Collaborate with concept artists, designers, and other 3D artists.
- Participate in quality reviews and production planning.
- Follow project pipelines and documentation.
- Help improve asset quality standards where needed.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio demonstrating professional-quality 3D work.
- Proficiency in Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or equivalent software.
- Experience with Substance Painter, Designer, or similar texturing tools.
- Understanding of real-time game production pipelines.
- Knowledge of optimization, modular workflows, and marketplace standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous marketplace publishing experience is a plus.
Compensation Model
- Important: This is not a traditional salaried position.
- Black Capes currently operates using a revenue-sharing model for marketplace productions.
- No fixed monthly salary is provided.
- Team members receive a percentage of revenue generated by the asset packs they contribute to.
- Revenue participation is calculated based on the level and scope of contribution to each product.
- Contributions are documented and tracked throughout production.
- Revenue shares are distributed according to internal project agreements.
- This model is designed for creators who are interested in building long-term digital products and sharing directly in their commercial success.
