About the Role

Working Pattern

• The role works 12-hour shifts on a four-on, four-off rota.

Security Duties

• Work across the Kent Marshalling Area, Security Office, Cycle Transport, and Dartford Security Patrols.
• Monitor and operate security CCTV systems.
• Support cyclist transport across the River Crossing and patrol the network and depots on foot and in a vehicle.
• Respond to security incidents, manage keys and contractor permits, and maintain security audit trails.
• Apply security policies and principles, support the Security Office Administrator, and focus on Zero Harm.

Kent Marshalling Area Duties

• Marshal vehicles entering the Kent Marshalling Area and process dangerous goods vehicles.
• Deliver customer service, liaise with the DVSA and emergency services, and monitor the Forward Tanker bay.
• Prepare the Kent Marshalling Area as an emergency-services rendezvous point when required.
• Follow Control Room Manager directions on vehicle movements from the marshalling area.

Qualifications and Experience

• Customer service, previous security, knowledge of a security discipline, and first aid experience are desirable.
• Provide courteous customer service, work under pressure, communicate clearly, and build effective working relationships.
• Work flexibly, independently, and in a highly organised manner while solving problems and making decisions.
• Be willing to travel to other Connect Plus sites and attend meetings and courses when required.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive a 4x4 patrol vehicle in all conditions.
