Security Officer – Gatehouse
Location: Heywood
Shift Pattern
4 On / 4 Off – Night Shifts
Shift times: 18:00 – 06:00
Four nights on, followed by four nights off
Average of 42 hours per week
Pay Details
£12.71 per hour
Weekly pay equivalent: £533.82
Paid monthly

The Role
We are looking for a reliable, professional and approachable Security Officer to join our team, working in a gatehouse environment in Heywood.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining site security, managing access to the premises and providing an excellent level of customer service to visitors, contractors and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Booking visitors and contractors onto site.
- Issuing visitor and contractor passes.
- Monitoring CCTV systems and reporting any suspicious activity.
- Answering incoming telephone calls and directing them to the appropriate departments.
- Carrying out general computer and administrative duties.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation.
- Monitoring and controlling access to the site.
- Providing a professional and helpful service to all visitors.
- Following site security procedures and reporting incidents or concerns promptly.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Good IT and computer skills.
A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A reliable and responsible attitude.
The ability to remain alert and focused throughout night shifts.
