Role overview

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional security presence throughout the hotel and surrounding areas.
• Patrol guest areas, back-of-house areas, staff facilities, entrances, parking areas, and designated locations.
• Monitor access points, CCTV, and other security systems; control restricted-area access.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and guest or colleague concerns; prepare reports and maintain security records.
• Assist with lost property, suspicious activity, disturbances, and incident investigations.
• Control keys, access cards, equipment, and other security-sensitive items.
• Monitor contractor, supplier, and visitor access.
• Support guest and colleague safety during emergencies and evacuations, including fire and medical incidents.
• Monitor hotel activities, VIP movements, and special events; liaise with authorities and emergency services as directed.
• Comply with hotel security policies, IHG standards, and applicable local regulations; maintain confidentiality and assist guests courteously.

Candidate requirements

• Previous hotel, hospitality, or corporate security, law enforcement, military, or related experience is preferred.
• Luxury or five-star hotel experience is an advantage.
• Strong observation, situational awareness, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional conduct, a sense of responsibility, and calm decision-making in challenging situations.
• Good understanding of security, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Physically able to conduct regular patrols and remain active throughout the shift.
• Basic computer skills and accurate report-writing ability.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.

Workplace

• The role is based within hotel premises and requires regular patrols of indoor and outdoor hotel areas.
