The Application Security Engineer Intern will help identify and fix security issues, automate security checks, and work with engineering to protect users and financial data.
Workplace
- This is an onsite internship at Fam HQ in Bangalore.
On the job
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on web applications, Android/iOS apps, and APIs.
- Help integrate SAST/DAST security tools into CI/CD pipelines.
- Review source code for security flaws such as SQL injection, XSS, and IDOR, and help developers write secure code.
- Analyze and validate bug bounty reports and prioritize fixes.
- Work with product and engineering teams during design to identify risks through threat modeling.
- Stay updated on CVEs, zero-days, and security trends.
Who you are
- Have a deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 for web and mobile, including how to exploit and patch vulnerabilities.
- Have hands-on experience with Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Postman, or similar open-source security tools.
- Be able to read code in Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript and write scripts to automate attacks or defenses.
- Participate in CTFs or bug bounties, or have a rank on platforms such as HackTheBox or TryHackMe.
- Be able to explain complex vulnerabilities clearly to developers.
