Security engineering responsibilities
- Conduct web, mobile, and API penetration testing and secure code reviews to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Configure and optimize SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC, and container scanning tools and manage findings.
- Advance DevSecOps and security automation in CI/CD pipelines; improve Kubernetes, container runtime, and infrastructure security.
- Contribute to security architecture and risk reviews for applications, cloud environments, and infrastructure.
- Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and end-to-end vulnerability management.
- Deliver security awareness training and best-practice workshops; partner with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on secure delivery.
- Communicate technical risks as actionable recommendations; participate in incident response and post-incident reviews.
- Track emerging threats, attack vectors, and security technologies.
Experience and core qualifications
- 7–12 years of professional information security experience and hands-on web, mobile, and API penetration testing expertise.
- Proficiency with application and infrastructure security tooling: SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC, and container scanning.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD security, security automation, and cloud security best practices in AWS and Azure.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, container runtime security, and secure architecture design.
- Python or Bash scripting skills for building and automating security workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication, and stakeholder management; able to explain technical risks to non-technical audiences.
Good to have
- Industry certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, OSEP, CISSP, CCSP, CKS, or CKA.
- Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, or CIS frameworks.
- Familiarity with GDPR, PCI DSS, or HIPAA regulations.
