Overview
We are supporting a leading organisation within the energy and infrastructure sector in their search for a
Security Analyst
to join their Cyber Security Operations function.
This role will sit within a 24/7 Security Operations environment, focused on monitoring, analysing, and responding to cyber threats across both IT and OT environments.
You will play a key role in the initial detection and triage of security incidents, working closely with senior analysts and wider security teams to ensure rapid and effective response.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and alerts across enterprise environments on a 24/7 basis
- Analyse and validate incidents generated from SIEM and other security tools
- Perform initial triage, including false positive/false negative analysis
- Investigate logs and security data to identify threats and root causes
- Classify and prioritise incidents based on severity and business impact
- Escalate complex incidents to senior analysts in line with defined procedures
- Support incident response activities and post-incident reviews
- Identify gaps in existing security controls and recommend improvements
- Contribute to tuning and optimisation of SIEM and security monitoring tools
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during incident handling
- Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
Requirements
- **5+ years’ experience**
in IT / Information Security
- **3+ years in a SOC / Security Operations role**
- Hands-on experience with
- SIEM tools and security monitoring platforms
- Strong understanding of
- incident response and threat analysis
- Experience analysing logs and identifying attack patterns
- Exposure to
- OT / ICS security environments

- Familiarity with security frameworks, controls, and best practices
