Job Purpose
To manage material planning activities within the section, ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet production schedules and customer requirements. The role coordinates with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, improve planning accuracy, and support cost-effective supply chain operations.
Key Accountability Areas
Material Planning Execution
- Implement material planning processes in alignment with departmental strategies and operational requirements.
- Review material requirements based on demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory status.
- Ensure timely issuance of material requisitions to procurement for ordering.
Inventory Monitoring
- Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and consumables to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
- Recommend adjustments to inventory policies based on consumption patterns and lead times.
Coordination with Stakeholders
- Liaise with procurement to ensure timely supplier deliveries in line with production needs.
- Work closely with production planners to align material availability with manufacturing schedules.
- Collaborate with sales, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track section-level KPIs related to material availability, stock accuracy, and order fulfillment.
- Prepare and submit regular material planning status reports to higher management.
- Identify gaps in planning accuracy and recommend corrective actions.
Risk Identification and Mitigation
- Identify risks related to material shortages, supplier delays, or forecast inaccuracies.
- Propose mitigation strategies such as safety stock adjustments or alternative sourcing.

- Ability to recruit, recognize and cultivate high performers and expose them in order to create a robust second line of management.
- Ability to recognize low performers and guide them to improve or release them.
- Ability to treat subordinates equally without any discrimination.

- Ensure availability of delegation of authority matrix to have sufficient delegations as per company policy.

Business Planning and Performance:

- Able to Plan, follow-up and execute those plans, whether they are annual or development plans.
- Monitor the plan performance and initiate action to strengthen results and take the corrective action accordingly.
- Provide periodic work progress reports.
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve the optimum cost efficiency.
Organizational Development:
- Develop the organizational structure according to the current requirements taking into consideration future and development plans.
- Ensure availability of job descriptions for all job roles and deployment.
Business Process Improvements:
- Develop, coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
- Should be conversant and able to navigate through IT solutions especially those relevant to his job and business.
- Promote the automated systems and using them fully, to spread its culture.
Quality:
