seeking on behalf of one of its clients (Government Entity in Abu Dhabi) a highly qualified professional to fill the position of "Section Head - Spatial Data Analytics".

Role Description

the Section Head - Spatial Data Analytics is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for leading the design, implementation, and governance of spatial analytics initiatives.

This role oversees the collection, integration, and management of geospatial and related datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility for business and operational decision-making.

The Section Head

manage and oversee the development, documentation, and maintenance of spatial and non-spatial environmental data, reports, maps, applications, and visualizations.

This role ensures the delivery of timely, accurate, and accessible environmental information for internal and external stakeholders, thereby supporting informed decision-making and compliance with local and international standards.

UAE Nationals only

1. Leadership & People Management

  • Manage the effective achievement of the section's objectives by setting individual targets, developing, and motivating staff.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports and drive the achievement of Emiratization targets through active recruitment, development, and retention of UAE nationals.

2. Technical & Analytical Oversight

  • Oversee the identification, implementation, and continuous upgrading of advanced spatial analytical tools and solutions (e.g., GIS and Remote Sensing Facilities), ensuring integration with existing systems and alignment with international best practices.
  • Manage ongoing collaboration with user sectors (such as Environmental Quality, Terrestrial and Marine Biodiversity) to deeply understand and capture spatial data analysis requirements.
  • Lead the provision of geospatial and geo-statistical analytical solutions, including data modeling, conversion, visualization, comprehensive inventory, and quality assessment.
  • Establish and implement a comprehensive framework for the periodic review of data currency, accuracy, utility, and completeness, ensuring strict alignment with data governance policies.

3. Strategic Planning & Budget Management

  • Prepare and communicate the section’s long- and short-term strategy, annual goals, and operational plans in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop the section's budget, monitor expenditures, and analyze financial data to ensure all operations remain within the approved budget.

4. Governance & Business Continuity

  • Develop and enforce section policies and procedures in compliance with general guidelines (HR, Legal, Risk, Quality Assurance, and Information Security).
  • Provide expert technical support to senior management regarding business continuity and environmental emergency/crisis management to enhance organizational agility and resilience.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • **Education:**
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science, Information Technology, or any related specialization.
  • **Experience:**
  • A minimum of
  • 6 years
  • of experience in a relevant field, with at least
  • 4 years
  • in a managerial/supervisory position.
  • **Behavioral Competencies:**
  • Built and aligned in accordance with the Abu Dhabi Government Competency Framework.
