Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English lessons across the secondary phase.
• Plan and teach engaging lessons that promote excellent progress and outcomes for all students.
• Assess, monitor and report on student achievement and attainment.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of reading, writing and literature.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to support student success.
• Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and events.
• Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Literature, English Language or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, QTS or equivalent).
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students of varying abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

• Experience teaching the British Curriculum.
• Previous experience in an international school setting.
• Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
