Role Summary:
The Secondary Design Engineer – Protection & Control is responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing secondary systems for substation projects. This includes protection schemes, control logic, SCADA/RTU integration, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role supports both engineering design and site execution activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review secondary system schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection/control logic
- Design and coordinate protection relay schemes (distance, differential, overcurrent, etc.)
- Integrate and configure SCADA/RTU systems for monitoring and control
- Maintain and update design documentation, reports, and technical submissions
- Support site and commissioning teams with system verification and troubleshooting
- Ensure all designs comply with IEC, IEEE, and local regulatory standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth project execution
Key Requirements:
- Strong understanding of protection relay design and settings (distance, differential, overcurrent protection)
- Good knowledge of secondary system wiring diagrams and schematics
- Experience with SCADA/RTU integration and communication protocols
- Proven experience in secondary system design for substation projects
- Experience in control and interlocking logic development and review
