The ideal candidate can take business problems from concept through development, implementation, and ongoing support.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, data solutions, and workflow automations.
- Translate operational and financial data into actionable insights; gather stakeholder requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop data integrations and automated workflows; replace spreadsheet-driven processes with scalable solutions.
- Develop reporting for operations, procurement, supply chain, fleet, finance, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor data quality; troubleshoot reporting, integration, and automation issues; establish consistent calculations and reporting logic.
- Document solutions and processes; support testing, implementation, user acceptance, and ongoing enhancements.
- Follow security, access, data governance, and documentation standards; support prioritized continuous-improvement initiatives through sustainment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience developing BI, reporting, analytics, data integration, or automation solutions and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience working with data from multiple systems and sources.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; understanding of data quality, validation, reconciliation, and governance.
- Ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, manage priorities, and work independently in a remote environment through implementation.
Preferred technical skills
- Experience with several of Power BI, SQL, Power Query, DAX, Power Automate/Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Excel, APIs, system integrations, ETL/ELT, SharePoint, Python, or similar tools is preferred.
- Candidates are not expected to have experience with every listed technology; technical aptitude, problem-solving, and ability to learn new systems are valued.
Preferred industry experience
- Experience supporting analytics, reporting, automation, or continuous improvement in natural gas utilities, utility construction, infrastructure, energy, field services, construction, or another operationally intensive environment is preferred.
