About the Role
Statiq is hiring a product-minded SDE II to own reliable software products in a fast-paced environment.
The role covers full-stack engineering with a strong emphasis on Python backend development and hands-on React and TypeScript work.
The engineer will take features from problem understanding and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
The role includes opportunities to use AI-assisted development tools and LLM technologies for productivity and AI-powered capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Own product features end to end, including technical approach, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
- Design and maintain scalable Python backend services, REST APIs, integrations, and database-driven applications.
- Build asynchronous services with FastAPI or Flask and contribute to React and TypeScript applications.
- Implement caching, queues, retries, idempotency, transactions, and failure handling.
- Work with MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB for data modeling, query performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Participate in architecture, technical planning, code reviews, and engineering discussions.
- Build test coverage, observability, documentation, deployment practices, and production readiness.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering teams on customer and business requirements.
- Use and validate AI-assisted development tools and contribute to LLM-based product capabilities.
Requirements
- Three to five years of hands-on software development experience with ownership of production systems.
- Strong Python expertise and hands-on asynchronous Python experience.
- Experience owning production-grade REST APIs with relational databases at scale.
- Knowledge of indexing, query plans, N+1 problems, transactions, and database optimization.
- Ability to contribute to React and TypeScript codebases.
- Strong system-design fundamentals covering caching, queues, idempotency, retries, and failure handling.
- Strong debugging, testing, code-review, and production-troubleshooting skills.
- Startup or product-led environment experience is preferred.
Technology Stack
- Backend: Python 3.12, FastAPI or Flask, and asynchronous Python.
- Frontend: React 19, strict TypeScript, Ant Design, and TanStack Query.
- Databases: MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB.
- Cloud and infrastructure: AWS ECS or EKS, S3, Secrets Manager, and CI/CD.
- Good to have: ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, and observability tools.
- AI: Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Anthropic or OpenAI SDKs.
