Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all products comply with local and international food laws, standards, and guidelines.
- Review and approve product formulations, ingredients, additives, and processing aids.
- Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with UAE, GSO , Codex and other relevant standards.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with regulatory authorities, food control agencies, standards bodies, and governmental institutions.
- Represent the company in regulatory discussions, technical committees, and industry associations to ensure alignment with evolving food laws and standards.
- Monitor and interpret upcoming regulatory changes and communicate potential impacts to internal stakeholders.
• Product Registration & Approvals
- Liaise with external bodies, including government authorities, laboratories, and certification agencies, to arrange meetings, request services, obtain information, and ensure effective communication and follow-up on all quality-related matters.
- Handle product registrations, label assessments, and certifications through Dubai Municipality and MOIAT portals, including preparing submissions, communicating with authorities, and ensuring timely approvals.
- Prepare and submit product registration dossiers to regulatory authorities.
- Manage the required product certification (Halal, Vegan, Non-GMO, EQM, Organic etc) according to business needs.
- Advocate for science‑based, practical, and industry‑aligned regulatory frameworks while maintaining full compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Labelling & Claims Management
- Design , Review product artwork, labeling, and declarations from SRA perspective to ensure compliance with UAE/global regulations and GSO standards.
- Ensure allergen declarations, ingredient lists, and nutrition facts meet regulatory requirements.
- Validate nutrition claims, health claims, and marketing statements.
Scientific Support
- Provide scientific justification for ingredients, processing technologies, and claims.
- Review scientific literature to support product safety and efficacy.
- Support R&D with regulatory guidance during new product development.
- Serve as the company’s point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and official communications.
Risk Assessment & Food Safety Support
- Conduct regulatory risk assessments for new ingredients, suppliers, and processes.
- Support HACCP, food safety audits, and quality investigations when regulatory issues arise.
- Evaluate contaminants, residues, and compliance with maximum limits.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Legal.
- Provide regulatory training to internal teams.
- Participate in project teams for new product launches and reformulations.
Documentation & Systems
- Prepare and maintain product documentation, label & artwork, and quality & compliance certificates and other related documents.
- Maintain and update internal records and archives for all product compliance files.
- Ensure accurate and up‑to‑date regulatory documentation for audits and inspections.
- Manage regulatory databases and digital systems.
- Support management in preparing reports, presentations, and follow-up actions related to product quality and compliance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the scope.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience regulatory affairs in food industry, Experience in dairy, food& beverage is preferred.
- Familiarity with GCC, Codex, EU, or FDA regulations.
- Strong understanding of UAE regulatory frameworks and GSO standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is a must (French will be an advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
