Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for before- and after-school programs during the 2026–2027 school year.
The program serves children ages 5–12 at Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, New Jersey.
Pay
- The advertised pay is $16.00 per hour.
Schedule and Status
- The schedule follows the school calendar.
- Morning program hours are 7:30–8:30 a.m.
- Afternoon program hours are 3:15–6:15 p.m.
- Morning, afternoon, or both program schedules may be available.
- The position is part-time and non-exempt.
Position Responsibilities
- Facilitates hands-on fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities using the Healthy Kids Curriculum.
- Supports homework completion.
- Provides a safe, healthy, and fun environment and serves as a positive role model.
- Follows state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and host school policies.
- May maintain attendance records, registration, and staffing when assigned.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass all required state background checks.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds and actively engage with energetic children.
- A high school diploma and/or one year of childcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Must demonstrate a professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and punctuality.
