School Accountant

About This Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations
• Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner
• Monitor cash flow and support budget tracking
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions
• Manage student fee records, invoicing, and collections
• Coordinate with Admissions on enrolments, withdrawals, and fee updates
• Follow up on outstanding payments in a professional and structured manner
• Generate fee reports for management review
• Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law, VAT regulations, and internal policies
• Assist in preparation of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain VAT records and assist with VAT filing where applicable
• Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis
• Handle petty cash and ensure proper tracking and reconciliation
• Liaise with banks for transactions and queries
• Maintain financial data within the school’s accounting/ERP system
• Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality
• Support process improvements and automation where possible

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of accounting experience (school experience preferred)
• Familiarity with UAE financial regulations, including VAT
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Experience with school fee systems and financial operations is an advantage
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
• Good communication skills for coordinating with parents and internal stakeholders

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
