About This Role
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented SAP Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist to manage, govern, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of enterprise master data across SAP systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the creation, validation, and maintenance of key master data objects, including materials, vendors, customers, and financial data.
This role is essential in establishing strong data governance frameworks that support reliable reporting, efficient business processes, and seamless system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end master data lifecycle including creation, updates, validation, and retirement of master data records
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of key SAP master data objects such as materials, vendors, customers, and financial master data
- Define, implement, and enforce master data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Collaborate with business and functional teams (MM, SD, FI) to ensure consistent data usage across modules
- Support data cleansing, harmonization, and migration activities during SAP implementations and upgrades
- Monitor data quality and resolve inconsistencies, duplicates, and data integrity issues
- Establish and maintain master data workflows, approvals, and authorization controls
- Support SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) processes and tools where applicable
- Work with IT and business stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure compliance with governance standards
- Develop and maintain documentation for master data standards, procedures, and data dictionaries
- Support audits and compliance requirements related to enterprise data management
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve data quality, governance, and operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in SAP Master Data Management or related data governance roles
- Strong understanding of SAP master data objects across MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), and FI (Finance) modules
- Experience in data governance, data quality management, and master data lifecycle processes
- Familiarity with SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) framework and processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams
Preferred Certifications
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG)
Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Experience with data migration tools and SAP S/4HANA data models
- Knowledge of data quality tools and governance frameworks
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for master data management
- Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and audit requirements
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments
- Exposure to reporting and analytics tools for data quality monitoring
