Role overview

Experience and education

• Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Requires a graduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience with support projects, upgrades, and operating-system/database migrations is specified.

Required and preferred skills

• Must have SAP administration, support packages, printer configuration, BEx installation, and Solution Manager.
• Must support ECC, PI, BW, APO, GATP, and BODS systems.
• Azure, cloud, and Sybase MAXDB are good to have; SAP BASIS certifications are preferred.
• Communication, analytical problem solving, system methodology, project management, and system architecture knowledge are identified.

SAP BASIS operations

• Troubleshoot escalated calls; configure SAProuter, OSS, SAP Logon groups, printers, SCOT, and system logs or alert thresholds.
• Manage backups, database restoration and recovery, SAP installations and copies, support packages, kernel patches, transports, and upgrades.
• Review database checks, Oracle parameters, CBO statistics, indexes, and performance; monitor SDCC and configure EarlyWatch Alert.
• Design and reorganize SAP landscapes, define backup and restoration procedures, and maintain disaster-recovery standby servers when available.
• Manage SAP BASIS operations and escalations, coordinate with functional teams, and manage profiles, roles, and authorizations.

Team and service responsibilities

• Lead BASIS support personnel and provide technical guidance across defined service areas.
• Implement support practices and prepare reports and presentations.
• Significant domestic or international overnight travel may be required.
