SAP Basis Administrator

Overview

• SAP Systems Uptime & Monitoring

• Ensure 24/7 availability of SAP systems by proactively monitoring system health and performance.
• Perform daily health checks on SAP servers to identify potential bottlenecks or performance issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system outages or performance degradations to minimize downtime.

• SAP Systems Update & Patching

• Manage periodic updates and patching of SAP components, including BI, PI, EP, xMII and Solution Manager
• (SOLMAN).
• Plan and execute system upgrades with minimal impact on business operations.
• Ensure systems are updated with the latest SAP Notes, security patches and kernel.

• SAP Basis Major Activities

• Oversee major SAP Basis projects, such as installations, migrations, and system refreshes.
• Provide technical expertise for clients and refresh activities on SAP Quality Servers including

Migration

Production To Quality,

• and the rest of the servers.
• Conduct SAP Component activation/deactivation based on business requirements.
• Implement SAP notes as per the requirements.

• SAP First-Level Support

• Provide first-line support for SAP-related issues, Password reset, user access, roles, Profiles, and system errors.
• Resolve user queries related to system functionality and configurations.

• Disaster Recovery (DR) Testing

• Conduct periodic disaster recovery testing for the SAP Production system to ensure business continuity during emergencies.
• Create and manage the Quality and pre-production server setup from the disaster recovery environment for testing purposes and recovery.

• Internal/External Audit Support

• Provide necessary system logs, configurations, and other documentation for internal and external audits.
• Support the SAP yearly license audit process by coordinating with relevant teams and ensuring compliance.
• SAP Integration and Configuration
• Manage system integration through RFC and other communication protocols.
• Configure and maintain Single Sign-On

(Sso)

• to streamline user authentication.
• SAP Team and Project Support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill SAP-related requirements for ongoing projects.
• Assist in activating and integrating SAP MII

(Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence)

• for operations.
• User and Role Management
• Create and manage users, roles, and authorizations in alignment with company policies and the User Roles Methodology, while ensuring proper Segregation of Duties (

SoD

• ).
• Periodically review user roles to ensure proper segregation of duties and compliance with audit requirements.

• MySpace and Miscellaneous SAP Activities
• Manage SAP Enterprise Portal “MySpace” configuration and ensure compatibility with

SAP

• systems.
• Execute regular maintenance activities, including client copy, backup, and recovery procedures.

Skills and Competencies Required

• Professional experience and knowledge in managing Windows servers and networking.

• Strong understanding of SAP R3 Basis components, system architecture, and database administration.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to maintain system stability.
