Key Responsibilities

Role Overview

A Senior SAP Ariba Consultant is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of procurement processes across both upstream (sourcing & contracting) and downstream (procure-to-pay) using SAP Ariba , integrated with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC . The role requires deep functional expertise, client engagement, and end-to-end delivery ownership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Upstream (Strategic Sourcing & Contracts)

• Lead implementation of:
• Ariba Sourcing
• Ariba Contracts
• Supplier lifecycle & performance
• Manage sourcing events (RFI, RFP, auctions)
• Configure contract authoring, approval workflows, and compliance tracking

2. Downstream (Procure-to-Pay)

• Implement and optimize:
• Ariba Buying & Invoicing
• Guided Buying
• Catalog enablement
• Configure requisitioning, approvals, PO generation, and invoice processing
• Ensure smooth P2P cycle from request to payment

3. Integration

• Lead integration between Ariba and SAP using:
• SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG)
• Master data synchronization (vendors, materials, GL accounts)
• Ensure seamless flow between Ariba and backend ERP

4. Solution Design & Implementation

• Gather and analyze business requirements
• Provide solution architecture and best practices
• Lead end-to-end implementations, rollouts, and upgrades

5. Stakeholder Management

• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders
• Conduct workshops, demos, and training sessions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (MM, FI, SD)

6. Support & Optimization

• Provide L3 production support
• Troubleshoot integration and transactional issues
• Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives

7. Documentation & Governance

• Prepare functional specs, design documents, and test cases
• Support SIT/UAT cycles and ensure quality delivery
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements

Required Skills

Core Ariba Expertise

• Strong experience in:
• Ariba Upstream (Sourcing, Contracts)
• Ariba Downstream (Buying, Invoicing)
• Guided Buying and catalog management

Integration & Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with:
• SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG)
• IDocs, APIs, web services
• Basic knowledge of:
• SAP MM and FI processes
• Data migration and master data governance

Functional Knowledge

• Procurement lifecycle (Source-to-Contract & Procure-to-Pay)
• Supplier onboarding and enablement
• Invoice and payment processes

Experience Requirements

• 15+ years of SAP experience
• 10 years in SAP Ariba
• 4 end-to-end Ariba implementations (Upstream & Downstream)
