Role overview

The Sales Supervisor coordinates and oversees shop-floor management, bridging sales staff and store management.

The role focuses on client relationships, business objectives, store operations, team leadership, and store presentation.

Client and business development

  • Support the team in building long-term client relationships and using clienteling tools.
  • Promote a client-focused mindset and ensure the team has extensive product knowledge.
  • Assist store management with business objectives, reporting, sales analysis, and product training.

Selling and store operations

  • Oversee shop-floor coverage during peak trading periods and model sales leadership.
  • Supervise opening and closing procedures, including register counts, bank deposits, and securing the facility.
  • Process POS transactions and inventory activities, including transfers, receiving, repairs, and damages.
  • Ensure adherence to loss prevention policies and operational procedures.

Leadership and presentation

  • Resolve customer complaints, exchanges, and inquiries, and liaise with management about staff performance concerns.
  • Propose and implement action plans to improve store processes and organization.
  • Educate the team on sales plans, personal sales goals, and KPIs.
  • Represent the brand and maintain store presentation standards.

Required skills

  • Advanced problem-solving skills to address customer complaints and operational issues.
  • Leadership and mentorship abilities to guide and develop the team.
  • Communication skills for liaising between staff and management.
  • Product knowledge and clienteling expertise to drive sales and client relationships.

Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1 year of retail or hospitality experience as a senior sales representative or supervisor.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal business English.
  • Computer skills including Outlook, Excel, and SAP, plus strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred.
