Role overview
Inside/Outside Sales Representative responsible for growing profitable sales across core and emerging industries and markets.
The position is based at 611 The Queensway in Peterborough, Ontario.
Sales and customer relationships
- Develop new prospects, retain existing accounts, expand customer relationships, and meet yearly sales goals.
- Conduct customer visits, identify customer needs, answer product and account questions, and recommend products and solutions.
- Forecast, prospect, and bid for new business and service opportunities; analyze markets and advance sales initiatives.
- Develop relationships with decision-makers, share market and competitor information, and collaborate to resolve customer issues.
- Prepare quotes and process orders; coordinate order execution and communicate order information to customers.
- Negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers as needed.
Branch and team duties
- Restock and organize merchandise, maintain showroom cleanliness, pull orders as required, and make deliveries in a company vehicle.
- Assist with training or mentoring associates.
Qualifications
- Three years of outside sales experience with a successful track record in customer service or a related field.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in business or a related field is preferred; industry experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, customer-service orientation, initiative, reliability, confidentiality, and conscientiousness.
- A team-oriented can-do attitude, passion for excellence, and hunter mentality are sought.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Work environment
- The role includes on-site customer visits and occasional heavy lifting.
