Sales Engineer

Role overview

Sales and business development

• Generate opportunities with contractors, consultants, developers, interior designers, MEP companies, and other potential clients.
• Maintain customer relationships; follow up on inquiries, quotations, tenders, and opportunities.
• Conduct customer visits, meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
• Recommend lighting products and technical solutions based on project requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions; maintain a sales pipeline and work toward monthly and annual targets.

Quotations and technical coordination

• Review BOQs, drawings, specifications, lighting schedules, and customer requirements; prepare technical and commercial quotations.
• Coordinate calculations, layouts, technical selections, submittals, datasheets, samples, compliance documents, and approvals with the design team.
• Check product compliance with project specifications and consultant requirements; coordinate value-engineering alternatives when needed.

Orders, projects, and site coordination

• Manage confirmed orders from LPO receipt to delivery and project completion; verify LPO details against approved quotations and terms.
• Coordinate purchase orders, production requirements and schedules, shipping, freight, customs, transport, delivery, and material availability.
• Maintain order and project tracking records and documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, approvals, and correspondence.
• Coordinate installation activities with electricians, technicians, contractors, and site teams; attend site meetings and inspections when required.
• Follow installation progress and outstanding work; coordinate programming, testing, commissioning, and handover where applicable.
• Resolve site-related technical or logistical issues with management and suppliers.

Payments, reporting, and coordination

• Coordinate payment status with accounts and follow up on advances, outstanding balances, and payment milestones.
• Check that commercial and payment conditions are met before materials are released where applicable; assist with order-related commercial disputes.
• Report on pipeline, pending quotations, confirmed orders, production status, deliveries, outstanding payments, and project progress.
• Coordinate with management, accounts, designers, suppliers, warehouse staff, and installation teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in lighting, electrical products, MEP, construction materials, or building products is preferred.
• Good understanding of technical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project documentation.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple projects and customer inquiries.
• Good communication and customer-relationship skills, organization, and follow-up.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and general office software.
• ERP, accounting, or CRM system experience is an advantage.
• A UAE driving license is strongly preferred; UAE construction and lighting market knowledge is an advantage.
