Overview

  • The Sales Assistant is responsible for delivering a clean, tidy, shoppable store environment that enhances the customer shopping experience and drives sales to meet set targets. Utilizing effective selling techniques and comprehensive product knowledge, the role seeks to engage customers and provide excellent service while adhering to store procedures and maintaining accurate pricing. This position involves collaborating with team members and management to facilitate the operational workflow and participate in store events.

Customer Service

  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times, both internal and external, by being aware of product categories and assisting and advising customers in a professional manner.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.

Pos Operation

  • Operate the point of sales system as needed and be aware of procedures required for cash operations.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy in all transactions to ensure financial integrity.

Product Knowledge

  • Actively learn product uses and benefits to advise customers on the right products to meet their requirements.
  • Use product knowledge to enhance sales through add-on selling techniques, thereby increasing revenue.

Receiving Deliveries

  • Assist with receiving deliveries and display goods in accordance with approved procedures to ensure product availability.
  • Stock shelves and organize products as per merchandising guidelines.

Ticketing & Pricing

  • Comply with in-store procedures for pricing and ticketing to ensure accurate customer pricing and protect against company loss.
  • Monitor and adjust pricing to reflect special promotions and seasonal changes.

Merchandising Principles

  • Apply merchandising principles to ensure a strong corporate image and attractive store displays.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy store by initiating and executing a cleaning program in the assigned department.

Other Events

  • Assist in stock takes, new store openings, product launches, and seasonal events as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful execution of store events.

General Accountability

  • Focus on prescribed tasks, following written routines, processes, or procedures to accomplish them efficiently.
  • Report processes that are not functioning properly to higher management.
