Role overview
Dual sales and operations role at a freight forwarder, NVOCC, and shipping agent in Dubai.
Responsible for business growth, customer relationships, and smooth logistics execution.
Responsibilities
- Find new clients, develop freight-forwarding and NVOCC business, and manage customer, agent, and carrier relationships.
- Prepare quotations and proposals, follow up on leads, and meet monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Research markets and competitors to support business decisions.
- Coordinate shipments from booking through delivery and liaise with carriers, shipping lines, customs brokers, and overseas agents.
- Prepare and verify Bills of Lading, invoices, manifests, and other shipping documents.
- Monitor shipments, resolve delays, and comply with international shipping rules and client requirements.
- Answer inquiries, update customers, address concerns, maintain records, and prepare regular reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of relevant freight-forwarding, NVOCC, or shipping-operations experience.
- Strong understanding of shipping practices and trade documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office and logistics management software.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Preferred experience
- Experience handling FCL/LCL shipments and international trade lanes is preferred.
Compensation
- AED 2,500–5,000 per month; salary is described as commensurate with experience.
Workplace and employment
- Full-time role; work is in person in Dubai, UAE.
