Role Description
The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
This role is responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety standards across the medical centre to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Daily tasks include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with local and international health and safety regulations.
The Safety Officer will develop and update safety policies, coordinate emergency preparedness plans, and lead or participate in safety drills and risk assessments.
The role also involves delivering safety training, maintaining safety documentation and incident reports, and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to continuously improve safety performance.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Experience implementing safety policies, emergency response plans, and compliance programs within healthcare or similar regulated environments.
- Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and root-cause analyses, and to recommend practical corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for delivering safety training, engaging staff at all levels, and promoting a culture of safety.
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and use of basic office software to maintain safety records and prepare reports for management and regulators.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Healthcare Management, or a related field; professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Familiarity with UAE safety regulations, healthcare standards, and accreditation requirements is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting, with strong attention to detail and commitment to patient and staff well-being.
