Safety Officer

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with company HSE policies and local safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
• Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to promote a strong safety culture.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Relevant safety certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and training sessions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE construction industry experience.
• Valid UAE driving license (preferred).
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications are an advantage.
