Role Description
The Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the company’s health, safety, and environmental practices.
This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures in line with ISO and OHSAS standards, as well as local regulations.
The Safety Manager will conduct regular site inspections and audits on MEP, substation, and maintenance projects, identify hazards, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Daily tasks include delivering safety training, conducting toolbox talks, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, and ensuring proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
The role also includes leading accident and incident investigations, preparing reports, analyzing root causes, and collaborating closely with project teams, engineers, and technicians to foster a strong safety culture across all operations.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Occupational Health and Industrial Safety within construction, MEP, or electromechanical contracting environments.
- Proficiency in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management, including implementation of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (or ISO 45001) requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in Safety Training, including developing training materials, conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions.
- Proven capability in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) and a diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with UAE safety regulations and standards applicable to construction and electromechanical works.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels in safe work practices.
- Ability to work on-site across multiple project locations, manage priorities under time
- Experience: 8 to 12 years
- Notice: Immediate to 10 days
